WASIF is concern about the increasing threats and suffering of local communities cause by climatic changes. In the past six years, we have redirected our focus towards addressing the effects of climate change in Nigeria. We work directly with local communities, policy makers and young people to develop projects, share good practices and ideas toward climate change solution, environmental protection and disaster risk reduction.

We focus on climate education, public participation and access to information on climate change, we also advocate for policy shift toward Green Economy and provide green jobs for youth and lobby for support for climate change adaptation programmes in vulnerable communities. We organise tree planting campaigns, communities and media outreach on how best to reduce carbon footprint.

We also initiate projects that improve local communities capacity to adapt to climate change and prevent or manage climate related diasaters.
